Go Meatless! Go Spiritual India appeal to all the sensitive beings on Meatless Day!

Famous and highly revered sage Sadhu Vaswani who established the world-famous Sadhu Vaswani Mission, a spiritual movement was a very strong votary of vegetarianism. In fact, his birthday that is 25 November is observed as World Meatless Day every year. International Vegetarian Day also known as SAK Meatless Day, is observed on the birthday of Sadhu T. L. in India and throughout the Asian Pacific Rim nations, but it is also recognized known in Western nations among many vegetarians of Indian and Southeast Asian descent. Go Spiritual India also launched the Go Vegetarian campaign on World Vegetarian Day recently.

Sadhu Vaswani is recognized, the world over as an accomplished proponent of the Upanishads and a skilled interpreter of the Bible and the Holy Qur’an. It was perhaps his strong and deep understanding of and a strong grounding in the Upanishads that he realized very early in life that all the living beings have souls which is part of the same param Atma. Therefore, Vasvani’s life has been an example of compassion without any limits, meaning- Compassion for all living beings!

The Indian concept of spirituality is based on a firm understanding that all living beings have a soul, the Atma, which is actually part and parcel of Param Atma the Supreme Being the God! Being the part and parcel of the same divine ultimate being, they are all linked to one another and therefore are related.

Spirituality is basically a journey of evolution and growth of consciousness with the ultimate goal of merging the Atma with the Param Atma as one! Hence compassion and detached love towards all living beings is a very important part of anyone’s spiritual journey!

With the understanding that all the souls are part of the same supreme soul, one can naturally progress to being compassionate towards all living beings and also can become vegetarian or vegan! Slowly but surely, more and more people are turning vegetarian or vegan for ethical reasons borne out of compassion towards animals. This is also part of a spiritual journey!
